It's been raining cats and dogs...

It started raining Wednesday night and into Thursday, and then into Thursday night into Friday, then into Saturday. It wasn't just a light rain, it poured buckets for 4 days. We had a bunch of flood warnings, luckily we only had to pump the rain water off our pool cover. The only other hard part was convincing Bear to go outside. Once she was out there she had a ball, but as soon as we opened the door to let her out she would look at us like we were crazy. Here she is after 10 minutes outside...

SAL Blog Challenge...

With Halloween closing in, blog about an moment in your life that you were scared out of your wits, frozen in fear or a screaming banshee.

John and I used to put up signs for builders. We used to go out late Friday and pick them up late Sunday night. One of the first weekends we were on a small dark road and John pulled over for me to jump out and hammer the sign into the ground. While I was standing just outside of the truck I heard something walking on leaves. It took me 2 seconds to drop the sign and jump into the truck. John turned the truck around so we could use the headlights to see what it was. John was positive it was just a deer. Well we turned around and there was nothing but a DIRT field, no leaves, no animals, just dirt. I still get chills when I think about it.

SAL BLOG CHALLENGE 10/4

In honor of Haloween Month, talk about the pranks you have successfully pulled off! What was you most memoriable!

I am not a big fan of Halloween, I guess because I don't like horror movies, haunted houses, etc., anyway, when I was a kid I used to go out my grandmom's back door, and run around the block just so I could ring the doorbell in my costume and trick my mom or grandmom. Although my grandmom thought it was cute everything, I can't help to think what they were thinking everytime they had to get up to answer the door for me :)

Now a days we sit in the dark and try to keep Bear from barking on Halloween night. We never know how many trick or treaters we will get, and I got tired of huge Sam's Club size bags of candy leftover, they just aren't Weight Watcher friendly :)

SAL BLOG CHALLENGE 10/13

Ok, I'm on a roll...

Here's the challenge: Our senses are something we use everyday. Blog about your sense of smell, what scents when you encounter them bring memories back to you

When John makes breakfast (lately his famous frying an egg in the hole he made in a piece of toast, the house smells like my Grandparents house. Back then they fried everything and there kitchen had a "smell". After all those years, I never knew what the smell was, but as soon as Chef John started cooking it all came back to me :)

SAL BLOG CHALLENGE

This week, well ok, last weeks challenge was to blog about something you would like to do if you weren't afraid...

I wish I could get rid of my fear of flying and travel more. Although lately I feel like a master traveler, 4 flights in one weekend, I didn't even freak out (too much) when we were on the plane, and told we had some sort of liquid leaking from the plane, and it had to be checked out. THEN, a few mins later, we were told it was some sort of liquid and we were clear for take-off, yikers!!

DON'T FAINT.... I'VE BEEN SCRAPPING!!!!

This past weekend was the Halloween Crop at Scrap-a-latte, and Shannon had the coolest projects...

This is a altered (YES I SAID ALTERED) Prima bottle I made. I think I am going to put some Halloween candy in it for my mom.

This is an altered treat bag:

We all had an awesome time in Michigan at the SAL Sweet Retreat :) We scrapped, we laughed, and drank the weekend away :) It's so funny how 8 people from around the US can meet online then meet in person and then laugh and carry on like we have known each other forever.

Here we all are at the Tiki Bar...

Ok, ok, here's the update...

Geez, where did summer go?? For our 15th wedding anniversary John and I went to Deep Creek Lake, in Western Maryland for Labor Day weekend. It was so nice to just relax and not worry about what time it was or have the cellphones ringing. There was NO cell service, and no internet, I did have the shakes at first, but I managed to survive :)
Check out the view:

This is Muddy Falls, it is located in Swallow Falls State Park:

This was the BEAUTIFUL house we rented:

Bear was wiped out after sniffing every inch of the mountain :)
