Another SAL Challenge...

Carla's challenge:
I heard on the radio today theat Richard Knerr, founder of Kenner Toys and Wham-o products died. He created so many cool toys:
Frisbee
Hula Hoop
Slip N' Slide
Supper Ball
Hacky Sack
Just to name a few. Got me thinking about some of my favorite childhood toys. So your challenge this week is to blog about your favorite childhood toys, when you received them, how long you had them and why they were your favorites.

My favorites were the frisbee and hula hoop. When I was a kid my dad showed me how to throw a frisbie into the pavement and it would pop back up, too cool!! I remember showing John's boys that, they thought I was all that and a bag of chips :)
The hula hoop, ahhh, I remember when I could hula hoop. I used to stand out front of our house with my friends and hula hoop, good times :)
Slip N' Slide - These came out when I was older. I ALWAYS wanted one of these, but let's face facts.... big girls don't slip N slide... on purpose :(

SAL Blog Challenge...

Geez, I'm behind in the blog challenges again. Wasn't I just caught up a minute ago???

Anyway here's last weeks challenge:
The blog question is, besides scrapbooking, what other ways do you keep your memories?

This is an easy one, I am a packrat :) Seriously I collect everything from an event, and usually wind up throwing it away when I figure out 10 lbs of stuff isn't going on a 12x12 layout, even a 2 pager :) I also take photos, I'm sure you're shocked and had no clue that I LOVE to take photos.

So, what's you key to keeping your memories other than scrapbooking?

CARLA'S SAL BLOG CHALLENGE

Family/Friends ~ Is there someone is you life (not living in your household) that you talk with everyday. Not email, not pm, but actually speak with on the phone or in person? The one individual that you have to talk to or your day just isn't complete? Tell us about them and why this friendship is so important to you.

My parents have always been the most important people in my life. I would speak to both of them daily. Since my dad died, my mom and I have become even closer, if that's possible. I talk to her at least once a day, and since we live 2 miles from each other, we see each other pretty often too.

Autism Speaks - It's time to listen

Sarah at Scrap-a-latte posted this and I wanted to share with my non-scrapping friends:

The band, Five for Fighting, is generously donating
$0.49 to Autism Speaks for *each time* the video is viewed the funding
goes toward research studies to help find a cure. When you have a moment,
please visit the link below to watch the video and pass it along to your
friends and family. They are aiming for 10,000 hits, but hopefully we can
help them to surpass this goal.
